Description: A PAIR OF LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN MODELS OF PHEASANTS THE PORCELAIN QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795), THE ORMOLU ATTRIBUTED TO JEAN-CLAUDE CHAMBELLAN DUPLESSIS, CIRCA 1750-60 Each with shaded breast and plumage rendered in various colours including pink, turquoise, blue, green, iron-red, black, white and gilt, perched on pierced rockwork base mottled in blue, rose, turquoise and white, above an oval acanthus-cast rocaille base 18 in. Provenance: Acquired circa 1910 by the philanthropist and collector Ogden Mills (1857-1929) for his Parisian residence 73, rue de Varenne, inherited by his daughter, Beatrice, the Countess of Granard, and by descent in the family.
