Description: A RARE, POSSIBLY UNIQUE .177 BREAK-BARREL REPEATING AIR-RIFLE, UNSIGNED, MODEL ''GEM REPEATER'', serial no. 154,
probably circa 1925, with 17 3/4in. barrel surrounded by a heavy-gauge tinplate shroud, the muzzle with a hinged plate revealing the loading aperture for repeat firing on bb''s., breech of typical ''Gem'' form with locking lever for the spring loaded ''chamber'' on the right hand side, ''T'' bar barrel latch with long thumb-piece, slanted air-chamber (traces of nickel plate), walnut butt-stock with iron heel-plate and cocking link forming the trigger-guard, finish worn

Other Notes: This possibly unique air-rifle has been the subject of magazine and other articles. The bb''s are loaded in a secondary tube concealed within the barrel shroud and fed by gravity into a spring loaded breech; the back portion of which springs backwards as the gun is opened allowing a bb to drop into the barrel, returning as the gun is closed seating the bb. The locking lever on the side of breech locks the spring loaded portion shut, making the barrel complete and usable with pellets. Other repeating Gems are known, but all have an external side mounted magazine and sliding breech design similar in practice to the later Gamo design.
