Description: the straight double-edged steel blade steadily tapering towards the tip, the fuller with inscription and further Crusader marks near the forte on one edge, the other side with the St. Irene arsenal mark and further Crusader marks, including fleur-de-lis motif and 'IRINSR' caption, the gilt cross-guard of lobed form with edges enclosing the blade, two drill holes on each side, the hilt surmounted by a disc-shaped pommel with hook, with later protective plexiglass grip
The blade with heavy oxidisation and discoloration with some abrasion as consistent with age, tip probably re-filed, the cross-guard and pommel with nicks and discoloration and scratches, the fragile central-section of hilt with later protective plexi-glass enclosing, as viewed.
