of straight form with single edge, 31in. and dated for 1531 in inlaid brass along with a stylised running wolf device, thin iron wire full basket hilt of ''Scottish'' form, the bars of the hilt joined in two places with iron panels, remnants of a dried leather liner, wire-bound sharkskin grip-piece and turned iron bun pommel, the hilt with a fine covering of corrosion and loose, the blade darkly stained; TOGETHER WITH its original black leather scabbard (distressed, repaired at tip), missing furniture pieces
