Description: A rare Roman yellow-brown glass spoon, Eastern Mediterranean, c. 4th Century AD, with a lovely and very long decorated handle resembling types in silver and bronze the end terminating in a hook. The oval-shaped bowl is bordered on the lower edge by a ridge and was blown separately, the shoulder with two rounded protrusions. L: 6 7/8 in (17.6cm). Quite rare and a handsome example! Cf.
