Description: A Regency mahogany Gentleman s wardrobe , circa 1815, attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, the panelled doors edged with bead moulding, opening to a divided interior incorporating hanging space and three fitted drawers, the side panels incorporating panelled cupboard doors opening to shallow hanging cupboards, 213cm high, 148cm wide, 60cm deep Closely related Gentleman s wardrobes exist in the collection at Tatton Park, which was largely furnished by Gillows. Over two hundred pieces of furniture were made by the firm for the house and much remains in situ.
