Vialov was a well-known Russian Soviet Avant-garde painter, graphic and theater artist. Studied at VKhUTEMAS from Kandinsky, Lentulov, Morgunov and Shterenberg. He was one of senior members of the famous OST group with Alexander Deineka (Deyneka), Yury Pimenov, Alexander Tyshler, Andrey Goncharov, David Shterenberg and others. In theater Vialov worked with a famous producer Vsevolod Meyerhold. He exhibited in numerous exhibitions: 1923 (Moscow) with Popova, Rodchenko, Exter; 1924 (Moscow) with Stenberg; 1925 (Paris) with Altman, Kandinsky, Mayakovsky, Stepanova; 1927 (Leipzig) with Lissitzky; 1930 (Moscow) with Malevich, etc. His wife Elena Konstantinovna Melnikova was also a painter, member of OST. Vialov's works are in many museums including the Tretyakov Gallery, The Russian Museum, and private collections including Sammlung Ludwig. Early draft for his notable painting Red Patronage that was exhibited in 1932 at Biennale in Venice.
