Dovgal was an Ukrainian and Russian Soviet Avant-garde painter, graphic artist and illustrator. He lived in Kharkov. He was known for creating posters. He was a member of ARMU. He exhibited in 1927 (Kharkov) with Tatlin; in 1928 (Cologne) with Altman; in 1929 (Amsterdam and in Switzerland) with Klutsis, Telingater; in 1930 (Vienna, Berlin) with Malevich; in 1932 (Moscow and Konigsberg) with Stenberg, Rodchenko, Stepanova, etc.
