VLADIMIR KUVIN (RUSSIAN 1927-2001) Russian Factory Scene, circa 1940s, oil on cardboard, 13 1/2 x 19 in ( 34 1/2 x 48 cm), signed on verso.
Kuvin was a painter, graphic artist. In 1951 he graduated from Ivanovo Artistic Institute. He was a member of the Artist's Union since 1961. He was a brilliant representative of the Vladimirskaya school of painting and a monumental painter regularly treating the subject of provincial Russian life. Being an author of lyrical pastels, Kuvin regularly participated in regional exhibitions. Works by V.I. Kuvin are kept in many regional museums.
