VLADIMIR IVANOVICH KUVIN (RUSSIAN 1927-2004), At the Factory , 1959, oil board, 15 x 21 in (40 x 54 cm), signed and dated on verso.
Kuvin was a painter, graphic artist. In 1951 he graduated from Ivanovo Artistic Institute. Member of the Artist's Union since 1961. He created a brilliant representative of the Vladimirskaya school of painting. He was a monumental painter regularly treating the subject of provincial Russian life. Kuvin was the author of lyrical pastels and regular participant of regional exhibitions. Works by V.I. Kuvin are kept in many regional museums.
