A SCARCE COMPLETE NAVAL COPPER POWDER MAGAZINE SIGNED ''WALKER PATENTEE'',
early type with flush dove-tailed vertical seam, top and bottom copper bands and copper folding ''D''-ring handle circa 1820, approximately 10 1/2in. in diameter with applied tinned central hatch-rim covered with a lift-off copper hatch signed ''WALKER PATENTEE'', the interior containing a radius of seven blackened and specially shaped, curved tins arranged around a central cylindrical blackened tin, all with brass caps, the central hatch aperture sealed with a copper plate with small ringed handle and a further turned mahogany cap numbered ''149'' with felt edging (small losses to felt, tins re-blackened)
Other Notes: A label accompanying the lot states that this tin came from ''Ballintore Castle by Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland''. This probably refers to the Victorian Shooting Lodge ''Balintore Castle''.
