Description: Octagonal barrels with original bluing. Rifle barrel with seven-groove rifling and smooth shotgun barrel, each in 14 mm calibre. The rifle barrel with dovetailed sight. The breeches with signature "Andreas Hauer - in Wirzburg" inlaid in silver between silver tendril and flower decoration. The barrels with numbers "1" and "2", respectively, at the roots, gold-lined vent holes. Finely engraved and chiselled lock with hunting scene, French-style pans. The side plate made of engraved silver. Trigger guard with barrel latch. Superbly carved walnut full stock with fine Empire ornamentation consisting of ribbons, leaf friezes and garlands. On the cheek piece depiction of a bishop's mitre with crosier, the reverse with monogram "TWB". Butt with patch-box, silver escutcheon with finely engraved episcopal alliance coat of arms. Underneath the cheek piece chiselled stock maker's signature with date "17 A. Körner 95". High-quality silver mounting with engraved hunting scenes between tendril ornaments. Original ramrod with engraved silver tip. Length 114.5 cm. Rare deluxe weapon in excellent, untouched condition. The coat of arms on the escutcheon and the stock carvings suggest that the rifle was commissioned by a German bishop.
