Description: By Tsuji, Osaka, Late 18th century. He stands with his left arm extended and supporting a simulacrum of his spirit which is connected to his mouth by the vapor trail of his breath, a gourd is secured to his sash. Signed inside the himotoshi with the artists one character signature. 2 3/4in (7.1cm). Provenance: Ex Richards collection. Purchased from R. Koscherak, 1958. Exhibited: the Student Center (August 29 - September 25, 1960)
