Description: Six character mark Guangxu and period
The oval vessel with stylised archaic motifs, on four feet in the form of stylised taotie masks. The curved, domed lid with a dragon and lingzhi on one side, the other side with the inscription fang yuan da de gui.
L. 22.6 cm
Provenance:
Acquired by the father of the present owner in Hong Kong in the nineteen fifties
N.B. I:
After an example of a 'gui' (ritual vessel) from the Dade period (1297-1307) of the Yuan dynasty.
N.B. II:
