Description: Octagonal, then round barrels with smooth bores in 12.5 and 13 mm calibre. Muzzle and barrel root with engraved decoration, struck Nuremberg proofmark at the breech, surmounted by "S". Indistinct barrel maker's initials "KD"(?) struck on the side. Double wheellock with counterposed cocks. External wheels with openwork covers, the posterior lock with safety-catch. Spring-loaded pans with release buttons, one button damaged, the spring of the anterior pan cover defective. The lock plate with distinctly struck proofmark and lock maker's mark "CK" with jug. The cocks, wheel covers and fronts of the pans with finely etched decoration. Sheet-iron full stock, the wire winding around the grip is missing. Hollow pommel with hinged lid and spring-loaded closure button. Original, iron ramrod. Length 47.5 cm. Rare wheellock pistol in excellent, untouched original condition. The lock maker's mark "CK" is recorded in Nuremberg circa 1580. Cf. "Der neue Stöckel", p. 658.
