Description: A W ( ) black basalt kettle and cover with 'widow' finial, circa 1800, applied with a replacement wicker handle and with an engine turned lower section, impressed W ( ) ; and a W ( ) black basalt hot water jug, impressed mark, 13.5cm high Provenance: The Nancy Gunson collection and thence the Oxborrow collection. See Diana Edwards, Black Basalt (1994), p. 258, fig. 416 for the actual kettle .
