Description: A Wedgwood caneware crested and armorial bamboo jug, circa 1790, of globular form with bamboo-moulded neck and basal section, painted in colours with a coat-of-arms and a crest, impressed Wedgwood , 17.5cm high Note: This is the shield of a member of the family of ROUSE BOUGHTON, Baronets of Rouse Lench, Worcestershire and Lawford Hall, Warwickshire. The crest is for ROUSE. See Edwards & Hampson, English Dry-Bodied Stoneware (1998), p. 65, fig.28 for a similar relief-moulded example. Provenance: The Oxborrow Collection.
