Description: Rifled octagonal barrel in 15 mm calibre, bore slightly rough with good rifling, dovetailed brass front sight. At the breech and near the front sight fine, golden tendril inlays as well as signature and number "2". Wheellock with semi-internal wheel, thread of the cock screw worn out, lock plate blued at a later date, engraved and gilt fine openwork appliqué with central, Saxon/Polish coat of arms. Full stock profusely covered with bone veneer and decoration of scrollwork and grotesques, butt with patch-box. Wooden ramrod with engraved horn tip. Some bone parts replaced, iron parts lightly stained in places. Length 112 cm. The coat of arms on the butt plate suggests that the item at hand comes from an armoury of the King of Poland/Elector of Saxony.
