Description: A wooden helmet mask, of questionable authenticity, in the shape of a male face from the Ivory Coast. The face of the mask is painted black with a gold stripe down a previous chip in the nose, with a continuous carved latticework pattern, with solid bronze sheets over the lips and forehead, also adorned with a covering of green beads. The mask is decorated across the eyeholes with a three-rowed string of white beads, with the sides and the back of the mask and the chin strap adorned with cowrie shells and beautiful black and white shell beads woven into a continuous sheet of cloth fabric.

Dimensions: height 10.2" - 26 cm., diameter 11.8" - 30 cm.
