Condition/Details: Bound in blue cloth with beveled edges and bright embossed gilt lettering and decorative design to front cover showing children in field of flowers, this antique folio volume is a scarce autographed limited edition of a collection of short stories by Alan Alexander Milne (18 January 1882 - 31 January 1956), an English author, best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and for various children's poems. Milne was a noted writer, primarily as a playwright, before the huge success of Pooh overshadowed all his previous work. This is copy number 287 of 500. The work contains 12 color plates on glossy paper and pictorial title page by Saida (H. Willebeek Le Mair)
This handsome volume is in excellent condition, and is solidly bound with clean, bright pages of hand-made paper. The book measures approximately 10 1/2" x 12 3/4" and contains 105 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
