Head of a bearded young man, in profile to the right looking up numbered 'N o 29..' and '3.6.17.38' ( verso ) black chalk, upper right corner made up 71/4 x 51/4 in. (185 x 135 mm.) PROVENANCE Anon. sale; Sotheby's, London, 8 July 1998, lot 16. NOTES Closely related, although not directly connected, to a number of figures in compositions by Bronzino, notably the head of Joseph in the tapestry of The Banquet of Joseph and his Brothers, of which there is an example in the Palazzo Quirinale, Rome (E. Baccheschi, L'opera completa del Bronzino, Milan, 1973, no. 66).
