Inscribed with the signature Archipenko II, numbered 1/8 O and dated 1921
Bronze, blue patina
height 28 1/2 in. 72.4 cm.
Conceived in 1921 and cast circa 1962. The Saarbruken catalogue notes that the edition was cast in the 1960s in an edition of 8 (numbers 5-8 were cast posthumously). The catalogue also describes the present work as aside from the edition of 8, and notes that the patina differs from the other examples.
This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Archipenko and dated March 26, 1962, in which he notes that the sign 'O' is unique to this cast.
