Description: ALEXANDER SCHLEBER(1939)
'Autogram Generator' (1975). Four volumes in-4°. 1153 pp.numb. (1 - 281/ 283 - 567/ 569 - 847/ 849 - 1153). Systematical listing, in alphabetical order, of number plate combinations, interspersed with numerous black & white photographs to illustrate. Every page, as the photographs, in plastic holders. Every leather frontcover with label afixed mentioning the title, signature owner, date '18 Dec. 1975' and 'N°99'. Brown leather covers, bound in metal, backed by wooden panels.
Very much in the spirit of On Kawara's 'One Million Years' or Hanne Darboven's accounts of time and it's passing, Schleber tries to look for re-ordering something very common but yet astranged, i.e. auto plates. A most remarkable conceptual account.
We join: Documenta 6, Kassel 1977. Three volumes in-4°. In orig. box.
