The work, edited in greek and then widespread during the ix century in latin, had great influece on byzantine medicine, Arab and medieval. The greek princeps - in twelve books, and not only in the three witnessed by the latin codes of the work - was edited by Jacques Goupyl, professor of medicine at the Royal Collège, "from one of the most spectacular Greek manuscripts in the Royal Library" (Schreiber, p. 89).
