AMERICAN INLAID HEPPLEWHITE CHEST.
Western Pennsylvania, late 18th-early 19th century, cherry. One-board top, dovetailed drawers, French feet. Cut corner fans, string and barber pole inlay, inlaid escutcheons. Large fan in apron. Refinished. 38.5"h. 40.5"w. 21.5"d.
Late refinishing, short age splits in both the sides at the bottom, replaced brasses with putty filled holes, pieced repair to drawer beading; puddy filled repairs at locks, puddy filled edge on second drawer, light overall scratches, varying pieced repairs to legs, fan on apron is missing outer edge; scratch on third drawer. 1997 restoration letter inside.
