Description: Blade kata kiri ha zukuri. Mu zori. On the obverse gomabashi with bonji, the reverse maru mune, bohi with ken. Sugu midare hamon, o itame masame hada, omaru boshi with middle kaeri. Kesho polish. Nakago ubu, one mekugi ana, kiri yasurime, inscribed "Umetada Hikoichi Saku" (HIK 6, 15P). Silvered habaki. Clear lacquered saya of ironwood. Iron mounts with Kaga gold nunome and a design of dragons and clouds, sawari with yasurime. Tsuka fitted with same and mounted with a pair of gilt menuki in the form of a curled dragon, black silk cord wrap. Kozuka of nigurome with a part-gilt, sculpted design of a cuckoo on a beech branch, the reverse with haiku. Mounting from the late Edo period. Length k/m 25.7 cm. Total length 38.5 cm.
