The ebony frame inset with ivory scales, brass vernier with clamp, crossbar with ivory plaque inscribed E &G.W. BLUNT within mahogany keystone case inscribed Ritchie, includes provenance paper inscribed Geo. H. Ritchie. Lieut. U.S. Rev. Brig "Lawrence", Last on the 25th of November 1837. and San Francisco, California, 2 miles from Point Lobos.
Greatest length 13 in (33cm)
Condition:
In overall very good condition. Small repair to ivory calibration plaque on brass swing arm. One corner of box missing. Box appears to be original with octant.
