Depicting a young farmer breaking off a branch from the tree above him and a girl picking up the fallen sticks, in the farmland beyond a woman watches the figures from the doorway of her cottage, framed within a verre eglomise matt, inscribed The Moreland (sic) Cottager and a giltwood frame.
