Description: comprising: two brass mantel ornaments in the form of ladies shoes; two George II brass dredgers; a Regency brass sarcophagus form tobacco box, the lid engraved John Keates / London; a turned brass finial; a Friendly Society pierced brass pole finial surmounted by a crown with the initials DFS, late 18th century; a brass scallop shaped tray; a miniature pierced brass trivet with a mahogany handle; two steel and polished brass extendable toasting forks; a portable brass kettle stand; a brass knocker and receiving bolt; a polished brass nut cracker; a turned oak treen object; and a set of George II bell-metal cup weights, dated 1736 (17)
An academic and decorative lot. The brass 'shoes' slightly misshapen. The brass dredgers with prangs, dents and old marks and scratches. Finial with dents. Brass toasting forks with some dents to tubular stems and one missing a ring handle. The bell-metal weights had a lid but this is severed at the hinge site. The brass casket with slightly misshapen feet. The brass door knocker in good order. Treen object with old marks and scratches. These items all exhibit the kind of wear that one would expect from age and in some cases regular domestic use. This lot which represents very good value at the published estimate.
