Description: An Egyptian faience amulet of Taweret mounted on a crystal base, Late Period, c. 664 30 BC, in classic form with head of Hippopotamus and pregnant belly, suspension loop at back of neck. The amulet is well-preserved with remaining green glaze and is mounted on a nice translucent crystal. Amulet height 3.3 cm. Ex R. Fletcher collection, Taos, NM, acquired in the mid-1950s from a dealer in Los Angeles.
