Description: An excellent Pre-Columbian comb, ca. AD 1100 1450. This rare weaving tool is 3-1/2 long, 2-3/8 in wide. Beautifully made from split reed, most likely Carrizo, with flattened points on both sides. This rare textile weaving tool is bound with the brown and tan braided thread typical of Chancay textile manufacture and has an unusual stitched element. Choice example. Ex Gallatin estate.
