Description: An exhibition standard 7 ¼ inch gauge model of London and North Eastern Railway Class A3 4-6-2 tender locomotive 'Windsor Lad', 2500, built by the late Mr John Adams of Poole, fitted with a fully brazed and riveted super-heated copper boiler incorporating a combustion chamber with four Galloway type inclined water tubes and all normal fittings including pressure and water gauges, double handled push-pull regulator, blow and blow-down valves, injector, safety and whistle valves, scale cab fittings including vertically mounted reverse handle with working brass cut-off indicator,

brake injector and ejector valves, drain cock and ash-pan levers, the chassis fittings including three-cylinder configuration with outside valves controlled through Walschaerts valve gear and the inside by Gresley's conjugated valve gear, also including finely fluted motion, twin working injectors, cylinder drain cocks and end-cover relief valves, cast leaf springs and all external wash-out plugs and doors, running board mounted lubricator pumps, sanding boxes and piped axle-lubricating boxes, lamp brackets and vacuum pipe, oval brass works plate 'Doncaster No 1790-1934', the tender detail including twin water cocks, working hand-brake and water valves, hand feed pump, all lamp brackets, hand irons and vacuum connections, finely detailed axle boxes with cast leaf springs and full brake gear, finished in lined green livery with polished bright work, 276cm long, the cab 32cm wide.

Boiler History: The 7 ¼" Gauge Society Ltd. Boiler Tests Records. Club Member 480. Boiler Identity No. 7N8. Certificate of Hydraulic Test No. SQ 700025 Test Pressure 135 psi. Working Pressure 90 psi, expired 13th August 2011. Steam Test Certificate No. ST 700033 Working Pressure 90 psi, expired 13th October 2008. Issued and signed by Mr Brian Reading and Mr John Dabson, appointed boiler testers for the society.

Provenance: Commissioned and purchased directly from the late Mr John Adams. Please note: Class A3 "Windsor Lad" Two injectors fitted and a tender hand pump
