Description: An interesting medieval terracotta jug of baluster form with plain handle, the neck, body and base with holes, 11.5cm high; together with a letter from Brewhouse Yard Museum dated 1-7-1981 stating: 'the jug is a small medieval jug, English probably, made in Derbyshire, late 14th or early 15th Century, the fabric is similar to Midland purple ware of that area and period, and formed similar to this jug up here at Burley Hill Pottery north of Derby' (2)
