Description: By Chokusai, Osaka, Early 20th century. The nest carved with seven empty compartments and ten containing pupae, one of which is loose. The pupae are left in their natural ivory while the rest of the piece is stained a deep brown color. Signed on the side in an oval reserve, Chokusai. 1 1/4in (3.2cm). Exhibited: Delgado Museum, New Orleans, LA (March-April, 1960)
