Description: Attributed to Shigemasa No.3, Osaka, 2nd half 19th century. Grasping a rice pounder in its left paw and climbing up the side of the moon. The eyes are inlaid in red. Signed in an irregular wavy reserve, Shigemasa. Probably the same piece shown in the MCI by Shigemasa No. 3. 1 1/8in (2.7cm). Provenance: Sotheby's, London, December 20, 1967; Lot 374.
