Description: This is a “first Hand” account of one of the most devastating wars in modern European history, detailing the creation of new military tactics and technologies by General Robert Monro (B.1601 – D.1680) and his mercenary Scottish Army. It has the added curiosity of having the personal library book plate of Sir Basil Liddell Hart. The “Father of Modern British Military Tactics” and the "Clausewitz of the 20th century.” In "Achtung – Panzer!", Heinz Guderian refers to Liddell Hart as one of "the protagonists of mechanization” advocating reinforcing tank units by infantry. Decorative stamped binding of navy blue leather exhibiting minor abrasion to obverse/ reverse covers. Spine exhibits significant age. Interior pages are dampstained. Size 29 x 19 x 3.5 cm.
