Engraving and drypoint, circa 1485. 227x236 mm; 9x9 1/4 inches. Second state (of 2). Ex-collection Marseille Holloway (Lugt 1875, verso). A superb, richly-inked impression of this extremely scarce, early and important print.
Impressions of the first state are virtually unobtainable; there are only 5 first state impressions known.
We locate only 15 impressions in North American public collections and have found only 4 other impressions at auction in the past 20 years. Bartsch 8, Hind 1.
