Description: 6th century AD. A gilt-bronze saucer brooch with chamfered raised rim, central boss surrounded a band of triple-band Style I beast-leg ornament and concentric rings; pin-lug and catchplate to the reverse. Cf. MacGregor, A. & Bolick, E. A Summary Catalogue of the Anglo-Saxon Collections (Non-Ferrous Metals), Oxford, 1993, item 2.43. 23 grams, 40mm (1 1/2"). Found near Aylsham, Norfolk, UK; in 1996.
