Description: 6th-7th century AD. A bronze mount comprising a flat-section hexagonal plaque and D-section c-shaped hook; the plaque with two opposed scrolls and hole for attachment; the hook with beast-head detail to the upper end. Cf. similar example in West, S. A Corpus of Anglo-Saxon Finds From Suffolk, East Anglian Archaeology 84, Ipswich, 1998, p.244 item 1. 12 grams, 36mm (1 1/2"). From an old North Country collection; found near Market Razen, Lincolnshire, UK, in 1985.
