Description: Amazing antique 19th century or earlier gilt bronze statue of Samvara with consort. Figure with 12 arms radiating about him each holding a different implement. His primary arms grasping his consort, and holding vajra in each hand. Four faced head decorated with third eyes and an ornate filigree crown set with turquoise and coral stones and enhanced with silver finished skulls and masks. He wears a cloak of elephant skin and is further surrounded by an ornate arch of flames. His legs rest on two prone figures each with four arms holding implements on a lotus base. She is holding a curved knife and skull cup with hair flowing down her back, and a small diadem. Statue is enhanced with painted details, and set with turquoise and coral gems. Bequest of John Bass to the Bass Museum of Art collection. Measures 33" x 22" x 14 1/2". Good condition with small losses and bends to elements. Arch does not fit into base securely. Will not ship due to size. Will refer a local shipper.
