Description: Late 19th or early 20th century, the persimmon colored silk robe woven with a damask pattern of clouds and trophies, the applied yellow silk sleeve cuffs embroidered with fish and other ornaments, the placket embroidered with beautiful ladies and pagodas enclosed in green scrolled border, lined in green silk. Condition: small stain to one sleeve cuff, 1 1/2" stain to other cuff, light grime, otherwise very good. 35 1/2"L (top of collar to bottom hem of robe). 53 1/2"W (cuff of one sleeve to the other).Provenance: From the Estate of Eloise and Waldemar Meckes, Jr.
