the portfolio, 1939-45, comprising the complete set of 23 etchings, some with aquatint, with preface by René Bertelé, each plate signed and dated in pencil, numbered 14/50, on watermarked Rives paper, the justification signed by artist and the author, numbered 14, from the total edition of 50, published by Galerie Rive Gauche, Paris, the full sheets, with some time staining and soft handling creases, mainly to the extreme sheet edges, loose (as issued), within the original green linen-covered boards with the artist's name printed in gold on the spine and slipcase, the corners of the slipcase showing some wear, otherwise in generally good condition (portfolio)
