Description: 1831 Action nom. de Capital de F500. black, red. No 158. A brown stain in the right border. Formed Paris, 1830, and opened branches in many other French cities. Had some 25.000 members, each paying 500 francs for a share. The aim was to establish a nationwide system of exchanges, where each member pledged tooffer goods or services free to other members. The central office in Paris received a fee for each exchange. Decorative border of grapes, and small vignettes of little angels with cornucopias and merchandise, and a lady with merchandise and shipping.
