Davison," portrait depicting a seated older and distinguished-looking gentleman holding a book in one hand and his glasses in other, no visible signature, in period carved and gold-painted wooden frame, brass name plaque identifying subject and artist affixed to front of frame, New Britain Museum of American Art labels adhered verso as well as other labels identifying the subject and artist, expected wear including signs of frame rubbing along edges, some discoloration to canvas, frame with scratching, finish loss and flaking paint, ss: 46 1/2" h. x 34 1/2" w.[Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the New Britain Museum of American Art.
