The auction started on 25 April 1842 and was to continue for 24 days. The lots of days seven and eight, however, were withdrawn before the sale, recatalogued and sold at a later date. Seven editions of the catalogue are known, of which this is probably the first: without days seven and eight, with day six ending with number 160 (later editions also list no. 161-187). With some ms. results in pencil.
