Description: AUDUBON, JOHN JAMES. Passenger Pigeon. Plate LXII. [Variant 2.] Uncolored aquatint and engraved plate from Audubon''s Birds of America, on wove paper watermarked: "JWhatman 1834." 39 3/4x26 1/2 inches sheet size, unusually wide margins with untrimmed deckle edges; lightly toned with a minimal amount of foxing, two 3/4-inch tears lower at edge. London: Robert Havell, [1829]

Notes: This extinct bird is one of Audubon''s most enduring compositions from his double elephant folio; here in an anomalous uncolored state.
