It was mainly a real estate bank, selling the 'biens nationaux', often confiscated property by the French state after the French Revolution 10 years earlier. The banque was founded by Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours and Jean-Barthélémy Le Couteulx de Canteleu (the founder of the national bank of France, la Banque de France) and Jacques Necker (important politician and financer, principal adviser of King Louis XVI). Decorative border with vignettes of carriages, ploughing, etc., and embossed tax-stamps. Signed by the director, Laffon Ladebat. The bank was in difficulties in 1803, and was taken over.
