Description: Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) Original oil on canvas. Hand signed by the artist. 29x26 cm image size. One of a kind original. Berthe Morisot led a double life. As the daughter of Edme Tibuerce Morisot, a high ranking government official. Berthe was expected to entertain and cultivate the right social connections. She married late at 33 to Eugene Manet (1835-1892). Ehe entered into the Manet family, also haute bourgeois and she was Edouard Manet's sister-in-law. Manet introduced Berthe to Degas, Monet, Renoir and Pissarro the Impressionists. Before becoming Madame Eugene Manet, Berthe Morisot established herself as a professional artist in Paris.
