A very early and folky pair of chip-carved shorebird decoys with applied heads. The right bird's head is slightly turned. These birds closely resemble, and may be, the early work of Long Island carver, John Henry Birch. Wakeman inventory "SB-6-W" and "SB-14-W" in pen on undersides.
