In 1920, Jakob Boesch took over the Teichler & Co. Shipyard on lake Zürich which formed the basis of the family business. In addition to reconditioning and repair work, they manufactured row, sail and motor boats through commission work. In the early 50’s the breakthrough came with the first production series and by the end of the 50’s Boesch possessed 3 models, The 500, 560 and 640. In the 70’s, the company discovered the niche market of wooden boatbuilding. This included the new 530 and 680 series, whose development was assumed to be between 1977-1981. The Type 530 was manufactured between 1980-1998 from fine woods, such as mahogany and maple.
